Public Policy - Financial Impact Study December 2020

The purpose of this survey is to gather current data to share with Congress as they negotiate government funding and potential COVID-19 relief measures. These data will also support our efforts early in 2021 with a new Congress and Administration.

6. The House of Representatives introduced legislation to create a federal Pandemic Risk Insurance Program. If enacted, participating insurers would provide business interruption and event cancellation insurance that covers pandemics and other public health emergencies. As written, the federal government would pay out 95% of claims under the Program, with participating insurers paying the remaining 5%. The Program would cover any federal public health emergencies, including COVID-19, as soon as possible after enactment.
