Gender Links (GL), together with its consortium partners are implementing activities that seek to promote women’s leadership and political participation in Africa over a period of three years. The overarching objective of this project is to contribute to the enhancement of Women’s Political Participation in Africa with a view to advancing the goal of gender equality in politics and governance. This project identifies the media as one of the key institutions of democratic governance that will be engaged in order to create change towards greater Women’s Political Participation. GL seeks to strengthen the capacity of media practitioners on gender sensitive and responsive reporting and to equip the media with the necessary skills to shift current media practice and influence long term understanding of on enhancing women’s political participation. GL will hold training sessions for media practitioners in Botswana, Eswatini and Zimbabwe.
