Child Nutrition assists school districts and other institutions in providing quality nutrition programs that promote life-long healthful living while providing nutritious meals each day that prepare children for learning.
USDA Child Nutrition Programs (CNP) are regulated by the
electronic Code of Federal Regulations, Title 7. Additionally, the
Washington Administrative Code and
Revised Code of Washington govern Child Nutrition Programs in the state of Washington. The Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction administers these programs.
Organizations interested in sponsoring a USDA Child Nutrition Program must first watch the
“Intro to Federal Programs“ video, then watch the Child Nutrition program specific video in which they are interested in applying:
Lastly, new sponsors must complete this New Sponsor Questionnaire. If you are a current sponsor interested in operating a different Child Nutrition Program, please complete this questionnaire and contact your program specialist for the next steps.
