SRTI K12 Mentored Scholars Program

Thank you for your interest in the K12 Mentored Research Career Development Program at Scripps Research Translational Institute, supported by Scripps' NIH Clinical and Translational Science Awards. To apply, please complete the application form below.

A core component of the Scripps Research Translational Institute (SRTI) is the education and cultivation of the next generation of clinical and translational scientists. Young clinicians or biomedical professionals envisioning a career as clinician-scientists or translational researchers are ideal candidates for the K12 Clinical and Translational Scholars Program. The K12 grant is an NIH-sponsored professional development award that allows for a recently trained physician or other doctoral-degree biomedicine/biotechnology professional to pursue mentored training in the disciplines of clinical and translational investigation. Candidate K12 Scholars who have already obtained master’s or PhD degrees may qualify for an individualized K12 pathway in Scripps Research’s doctoral or postdoctoral programs.

Conducted collaboratively with the Skaggs Graduate School of Chemical and Biological Sciences at Scripps Research, SRTI's K12 Scholars program is a 2- to 3-year research-centric educational endeavor that is complemented by coursework and a series of seminar-based activities directed at preparing the young investigator for a career as a clinical and/or translational scientist.

Eligibility:
*Resident (PGY2 or higher), fellow, or junior faculty with a doctorate (MD, PhD, MD/PhD, PharmD, or equivalent)
*US citizen or permanent resident
*Devote a minimum of two years to the program
