Horizon Scanning: The risks faced by a risk management professional

These four questions provide us with the opportunity to explore some of the most important risks faced by risk professionals today regarding the profession, including: opportunities for improvement in how we analyse and manage risk; threats posed continued use of by out-of-date approaches; and sharing our methods for identifying and managing risks currently deemed to be "emerging".

1. Do you think the expectations placed on professional risk managers by organisations and society is changing? If so how?

2. Do you consider any "traditional" components of risk management to be no longer fit for purpose? If so, which ones?

3. In what areas do you feel risk practitioners need to improve their skills and / or make it clear that they have value to add?
