Bank On National Account Standards Certification

The CFE Fund leads the national Bank On movement, supporting local coalitions across the country working to connect individuals and families to the financial mainstream through partnerships between local governments, financial institutions, and community organizations. The goal of Bank On is to ensure that everyone has access to safe and affordable financial products and services.  

The CFE Fund invites financial institutions to submit products within their branch-wide offerings that they believe meet the Bank On National Account Standards (2021-2022) for independent validation. Products found to meet these Standards will receive official Bank On recognition and certification.


Submissions for validation are free of charge, and will be accepted on a rolling basis. They will be reviewed by the CFE Fund’s third party evaluator, the National Consumer Law Center, and periodically reevaluated to ensure that such certifications are current. Please be sure to review our FAQs on the validation and certification process prior to submitting your product.

Please note you will need to upload the following documents to complete the certification process:
  • Product-specific Terms & Conditions, Fee Schedule, etc
  • Any consumer-facing marketing material for this product
  • Branch list (Excel format preferred)
