The Department’s Kaleidoscope Collective for Learning is pleased to announce two professional learning opportunities—Transforming Instruction Through the Lens of Authentic Work and Engaging Students as Complex Thinkers. In these sessions, teachers will explore instructional practices that leverage using authentic work to build and sustain student engagement in and across remote, hybrid, and in-person learning. Educators will engage with colleagues from across the Commonwealth to strategize ways to apply these practices and mindsets in their own virtual or in-person classrooms.  

  • Transforming Instruction Through the Lens of Authentic Work:  
  • Key question: What could authentic work look like in remote/hybrid/in-person learning? 
  • Session date: Wednesday, November 18 – (3:45 PM – 5:00 PM) 

  • Engaging Students as Complex Thinkers:  

  • Key question: How can we engage student as complex thinkers in remote learning?  

  • Session dates: Participants have the choice of attending on either date…  

  • Tuesday, December 15—(3:45 PM – 5:00 PM) OR  

  • Thursday, January 14—(3:45PM – 5:00 PM)
