Barnardos FDV experience survey

1. Introduction and consent
This survey is being undertaken by Urbis on behalf of Barnardos Australia. The purpose of the survey is to understand people’s experience of domestic and family violence or abuse as a child or young person. Urbis will provide a report on the findings to Barnardos Australia to support and inform its advocacy work.

In the survey you will be asked about your experience of domestic and family violence or abuse. Participating in the survey may remind you of a difficult, emotional time in your life.  If you feel that participation may cause you distress, please do not proceed.

Participating in this survey is voluntary and the information that you provide is anonymous. Any information that you provide that could be used to identify you (such as the names of people or places) will not be included in the reporting on this survey.

This survey will take between 10-15 minutes to complete and you don’t have to answer any questions if you don’t want to. You can stop the survey at any time.

If you experience any distress, either while completing the survey or after completion and would like to speak to a professional, please contact your health practitioner (such as your GP or a professional counsellor) or call 1800 RESPECT (1800 737 732), Lifeline (13 11 14) or Beyond Blue (1300 22 4636).
