Faculty new to NLU will complete a self-evaluation and receive feedback from the program leader. NLU veteran faculty will complete the self-evaluation and receive feedback from the program leader once per year.
The remainder of this self-evaluation is organized by the 10 Principles of Online Teaching at NLU. Each section starts with a brief description of the principle, and also which Community of Inquiry domain they refer to. We acknowledge that this tool is not exhaustive of all the great practices we encourage in our online courses, though we believe they represent some fundamental practices meant to satisfy one of our teaching principles. Please be honest and know that we are here to support you--answering "no" is okay, especially if you are doing something even more engaging in place of a listed practice.
