Volunteer Application

Thank you for your interest in becoming a mentor with Big Brothers Big Sisters of New York City. Before continuing on to our online application, please read about our commitment and application process below.

Basic Commitment

-minimum of one year matched with a Little
-weekend availability
-two outings a month for four hours each

Once these steps are complete by the volunteer, our team will fully review all components of the application (including references and background check) and extend offers to those who are a good fit.
The application and screening process usually takes 2-3 months to complete. If accepted, new Bigs will join our group of future Bigs until an appropriate Little is found.
