2025 Growing Home Mentor Application

Background Information

Growing Home is a program of the Greater Omaha Chamber to connect diverse students who are attending a Higher Education Institution, either out of state or an in-state institution but want to continue building their network and exploring work opportunities in Omaha, Nebraska. Students will receive professional development training and mentorship from Omaha professionals and be connected to internship opportunities in Omaha over summer break.

We want to build these students’ professional network in Omaha, explore their desired career fields, and offer a summer internship experience so that they see Omaha as an attractive option post-graduation.


Eligibility
  • Identify as belonging to the Black, Indigenous, and Person of Color (BIPOC) community
  • Full time professional 

Mentor Commitment
  • Monthly meetings with mentee for about an hour
  • End-of-month mentee/mentor communication log
  • Onboarding and debriefing meetings at the beginning and end of the program
Each mentor who meets these commitments will be paid a stipend.
